Start a note inside a project and it is filed already. Start one anywhere else and it sits in the Inbox until you move it - and Ctrl+K reaches either by name.
The whole of Bricknote's organization fits in one sidebar - an Inbox holding every note you have not filed, All notes, Favorites, and a flat list of projects you create only when you want one. There are no tags, no sub-folders, and no archive to keep on top of.

A new note needs a first sentence, not a filing decision. The project chip is there when the thought turns out to belong somewhere.
A note captured straight into the Inbox: the title and first line are typed with no folder to pick, the status bar moves from Saving to Saved on its own, and only afterwards does the project chip in the top bar open a short menu and move the note into the Launch project.

Press Ctrl+K from anywhere. Type a name and you’re there - or start a new note without breaking your train of thought.

The gallery is a keystroke away - Ctrl+K - and a note started from a template is filed wherever you started it. Nothing to build first.
Star the ones you keep coming back to.
One click and it joins Favorites in the sidebar. The note doesn’t move, and in a shared workspace your stars are your own list.

The useful answers.
No. A note with no project is simply in the Inbox, and it can stay there for as long as you like.
Note and project names. Typing in the palette matches note titles, so name a note the way you would ask for it later.
Yes. Every list has a sort menu - date created, last edited, or title - and the order you pick in settings is the one every list opens in.
Not today. Projects are a single flat level - a lightweight way to group related notes rather than a structure you have to design first.
They stay. The notes lose their project chip and go back to the Inbox, so deleting a project never takes work with it.
Yes. Ctrl+K needs a keyboard, so phones get the same search as its own screen, one tap from the bottom bar.
